  • Job Purpose:
     
    To independently perform staff level accounting functions that deal with accounting issues of normal complexity that
    support business processes and provide further experience with Caterpillar accounting practices. Expected to handle U.S. GAAP book
    closing and lead local GAAP audits of more or more legal entity independently.
     
     
    Job Duties:
     
    • • Monthly Book closure -Independently handle US GAAP Legal entity closings and general accounting for one or more
    ledgers/ legal entities spread across Asia pacific region.
    • • Financial analysis -Financial statement preparation/ Review including variance analysis, gross margin analysis and forex
    impact analysis. Should present and explain the monthly financial analysis to business support managers.
    • • Accounting/ Approval- Journal entries (complex) - Performing journal entries complex revenue recognition, post sales
    credit accrual, licence fee calculations, Employee benefit accounting including pension accounting, defined benefit plan accounting.
    Review/ Approval of normal to medium complexity journal entries posted by business units and legal entity team.
    • • Monthly Reconciliations - Preparation of reconciliations with High complexity (Non-current recons) relating to balance
    sheet. Approval of reconciliations of low and medium complexity relating to balance sheet.
    • • Audit coordination - Preparation / Review of financials and coordination with statutory auditors for ensuring timely
    provision of information as well as coordination with internal teams and BUs for completion of audits. Resolving audit questions and
    managing discussions with audit supervisors and guide other legal entity team members with respect to preparation and presentation
    of financials.
    • • Process improvement projects -Gain deep expertise in the functional area and ideate and implement continuous process
    improvements through various techniques like LEAN, Six Sigma etc. as well as use of data analytical tools. Support deployment of
    common systems and processes such as SAP and other shared services solutions around the globe where the culture, time zones,
    language, accounting, tax and compliance needs differ from location to location and can be highly challenging.
    • • Management information support - Support on various questions and information requests from business units and
    corporate accounting team like Annual insurable reporting, Support on notes to 10k and 10Q, Global tax information package, etc.
    • • Cross functional team work -Serves as liaison between business units and other internal teams in shared services.
    Understands the needs of the operating business units and partners with them to provide quality financial services.
     
    Required Qualification:
     
    Fully qualified CA with 4-6 years of work experience in Accounting is must.
